Sustainable Village Initiative (SUVI)

Sustainable Village Initiative (SuVi) is a local-community based initiative, launched in order to transform all the villages of a rural municipality into sustainable villages that will achieve sustainability goals and targets. (particularly SDG1,2 and 8).

It is a pilot-project/initiative, proposed by the Green Center and launched-implemented jointly by the Green Center and DILASHAINI rural municipality (local government) at the rural municipality, with the mission of promoting SDGs in a rural municipality of Nepal.

Green Center and DILASHAINI rural municipality (local government) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly launch and implement the SuVi to promote local sustainability.

An environment-friendly, low-carbon, resilient, livable & sustainable rural municipality, that will have no poverty, ensure decent employment, and food & nutritional security for all.

Mission

SuVi attempts to promote sustainable development goals and targets

Key Objectives

  • To end poverty in a society (SDG1);
  • To ensure full and productive employment and decent work for all (SDG8);
  • To promote sustainable agriculture, food systems transformation & food/nutritional security for all (SDG2);
  • To maintain environmental sustainability; and
  • To promote the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
