Youth eco-business scheme (Yes)
Youth eco-business scheme (Yes) is a program launched by the Green Center, for inspiring & engaging young people in environment-friendly & sustainability business ventures, particularly in the areas of agroforestry, natural resources-based entrepreneurship as well as circular economy.
Youth eco-business scheme (Yes) attempts to support the entrepreneurial young people (20-40 years) to transform them (who have a viable business idea or plan) into a sustainable businessman/entrepreneur.
Vision
At least 20-40 youth (20-40 years) per year in a rural municipality will start, scale-up and be able to sustain their sustainability business ventures.
Mission
To inspire and engage young people in sustainability entrepreneurship, especially in agroforestry sectors, at the local/grassroots level.
Objective
To inspire and engage young people in environment-friendly & sustainability business ventures, particularly in the areas of agroforestry, natural resources-based entrepreneurship as well as circular economy.
Target
40 youth per year in a rural municipality to be inspired, enabled and supported to be a sustainability entrepreneur.
Methodology
The scheme offers following services to young people:
- Business counseling services
- Entrepreneurship boot camp/intensive training
- Business planning/strategies services,
- Access to finance/seed capital (at least 0.1 million NRs.)
- Assistance in marketing, market development, market access/exposure/linkage
- Enterprise registration and annual auditing
- Assistance to increase the viability, growth, and sustainability of businesses
- Access to information
- Linkage with supportive and valuable institutions
- Management of a Business Mentor to encourage, advice and support them to start and scale-up business
- Regular follow-up, guidance and mentorship
To participate in the scheme and have access to the above-mentioned services,
- Youth should present a viable business plan that demonstrates a business's potential for long-term profit and sustainability by covering its market potential, strong management team, self-investment, viable business model, competitive advantage, scalability, and traction.
- Youth can send their business proposal in the official email address of the Green Center.
- A team of judges will evaluate the proposal and the selected youth will be asked to make a visual presentation, come to the office of the rural municipality and present their business idea face-to-face.
- After selection, the youth will be able to participate in the Youth eco-business scheme (Yes).
The scheme is launched by the Green Center and implemented jointly by the Green Center, local government, Farmer school and local stakeholders.
